The Rundown: The Sangeryes family will continue the fight against the Jinoo as new threats grow from without and within the family itself.
After Cullen brings his aunt back through the portal to Earth, the fight against the Jinoo continues in earnest. Ma Etta discovers that Nora is more like her daughter than she would like, but the reasons she’s keeping the woman close to her betray a fear that their return to Earth might have changed them in ways that are a threat. At the same time, Ford, Berg and Blink continue to fight to clean up the city, but the normally loquacious Berg begins to give in to the darkness growing inside him.
While the family fights the evil around them and Ma Etta works to help those in need, Cullen and Enoch have a tense meeting with representatives of the other families fighting the demons and Adro brings Sylvester somewhere he can start over.
The Story: Thrilling, tense and exciting, Walker and Brown continue to keep this story engaging both in the plot and the characters. The dialogue is fantastic and I really enjoyed the scene between Cullen and the other representatives. It builds beautifully and creates some potentially interesting side stories from this world. The story moves beautifully from moment to moment and there is an immediacy to the action that keeps the reader invested and coming back for more.
The Art: Sanford Greene delivers some beautiful art in this issue. Everything is hitting on all marks. From the characters to the action, the panels are filled with beautiful details throughout.
