The Rundown: The mystery man makes his way to the island and one of the prisoners finds a means of escape.
After killing a man set to relocate to Freedom Unlimited, the mysterious killer assumes his identity and finds himself in the lion’s den. When his identity is discovered, he will take the guards on a harrowing chase before being captured and taken to be interrogated.
At the same time, Canto’s prisoners continue to try to escape. When the reporter notices a possible means of liberation, she jumps at the chance even with the fellow prisoners trying to stop her.
The Story: There are some interesting and fun moments throughout this issue, but the story felt short. The characters are interesting and I enjoyed some of the backstory. I just wish there were more happening. As much as I enjoy the world building and the subversive cameos throughout, I want to be more invested in the story and its characters.
The Art: Steve Pugh does some great work in this issue. The characters look great, the backgrounds are beautiful and the subversive visual cameos are fun and interesting.
