The Rundown: Ben confronts who has been stalking him and makes a decision about his life.
Ben finds himself facing off against Spidercide who has been taking on the personas of his enemies for weeks to mess with him. After discovering who he has been impersonating, Spidercide captures Ben and takes him to a place where he tells his genetic brother exactly what he wants and how he can help him.
After being confronted by ghosts of his past, Ben is given a choice by Spidercide. A choice that Ben will use to his advantage as he notices something strange about the clone. Unfortunately, their confrontation will not be the end of their encounter as Spidercide has something even more dangerous planned for Ben Reilly.
The Story: DeMatteis delivers some great Spider-Man action and adventure that has a firm root in the character and his complicated emotions and relationships. The story is thrilling and filled with great action. There are also some really interesting cathartic moments in the story that force Ben to deal with his reality and what he really wants. I like the evolution of the plot and the cliffhanger ending makes me excited to see what comes next.
The Art: David Baldeon blows me away with the imagery in this issue. There are so many visually impressive and thrilling moments in the issue and the style of the art perfectly fits the tone, pace and action of the plot.
