Warner Brothers has announced the release date for the upcoming The Batman from director Matt Reeves.
With the new announcements about the studio’s upcoming release slate, it has finally been confirmed whether or not Batman v Superman and Justice League star Ben Affleck would return to the cape and cowl.
According to a Deadline exclusive, with the release date of the Batman Revealed Matt Reeves the writer and director of the film will now be on the hunt for a new star.
Affleck was originally going to direct and star in the film which he co-wrote with DC Comics Geoff Johns. Even though Ben Affleck is departing the project, he still has a busy slate of films in development. He will be producing an adaptation of Kate Alice Marshall’s novel I Am Still Alive as well as starring in the Warner Brothers drama Torrance. Affleck confirmed his exit in a tweet which featured the Deadline article.

Matt Reeves’ The Batman is scheduled to be released in theaters June 25th 2021.
