The Rundown: A case involving a serial killer will require the expertise of Harleen Quinzell.
Being the mother of twins and having a hard time making ends meet, Harley is finding life in Gotham City to be difficult. With fond memories of her time with Jack Napier keeping her going, she spends her days trying to keep things together. When a familiar face from her past checks in on her, he brings information about a case that could use her help.
Initially reluctant to take on any role other than motherhood, Harley goes to visit Bruce Wayne in prison for advice. After their conversation, Harley decides to visit the crime scene. Unfortunately, everything she finds at the scene points to someone with a connection both to her and the Joker. Someone who will require Harley to suit up and take down personally.
The Story: Murphy and Collins craft a good first issue. It hits all the right emotional notes as well as expands on the relationship between Jack and Harley. Keeping Bruce on the sidelines is a great choice. It gives the spotlight to Harley and showcases her skills in a way that keeps the reader invested.
The Art: Matteo Scalera does some great work with the art in the issue. There is a beautiful tone to it and it is as engaging as the story itself. A great looking issue from start to finish.
