The Rundown: Batman returns home and has a dangerous family reunion.
Bruce Wayne has returned to Wayne Manor. On his first night back, a knock at the door will change everything. When a very much alive Alfred Pennyworth arrives at the mansion, Bruce is naturally skeptical. Fortunately, the man seems to know things that only Alfred would know.
After taking Alfred down into the cave, Bruce discovers that Damien is there along with two others. Both Alfred and Bruce know that something is wrong with Damien and when he attacks them, they barely make it out alive. After discovering something has gone wrong with magic, Bruce begins a desperate search for his missing son. A search that will bring him face-to-face with a sin from his past.
The Story: Waid delivers an exciting adventure in this first issue and I love its connection to the new World’s Finest comic. The story is fast-paced and energetic. The action is thrilling and there’s some great, shocking reveals found within it. I look forward to seeing how the series progresses.
The Art: Asrar delivers some exciting visuals throughout the issue. The art is beautifully detailed, thrilling and filled with great visual touches that engage the reader.
