The Rundown: Batman gets one step closer to the man pulling his strings, but his investigation with Joker will continue to lead to death.
The story begins with a wedding that quickly turns into a nightmare when Joker and Harley Quinn arrive to crash it. With a church full of hostages at his command, Batman and the GCPD’s interference will lead to a tragedy for the father of the bride. A tragedy he wants revenge for.
His revenge will come in the form of another challenge for the Dark Knight and his new partner. One that will see the destruction of something close to Bruce’s past while also allowing for Joker to be the killer he is. At the same time, Nightwing and Catwoman discover something dangerous. Something that will send Batman to a local cemetery and a dangerous discovery.
The Story: An intense and thoroughly enjoyable story with not only some great twists, but also characters that have depth. The antagonist of the story is fascinating in both his motivations and methodology and I love not knowing what will happen next in the story. I also continue to love the mounting tension between Batman and Joker while they are forced to work together.
The Art: Silvestri brings the same intensity to the art that he brings to the story and it shows in some beautifully detailed pages and panels filled with great energy and darkness.
