Letters by Steve Wands

The Rundown: The villains attack Metropolis while Batman and Superman go looking for who is responsible.

Super powered by the invading imps, the villains fight the remaining members of the Justice League while Mxyzptlk and Bat-Mite try to find a way to free Batman and Superman from their two dimensional prison. At the same time, Batman, Superman and Bat-Mite travel to the sixth dimension to continue their investigation into their mysterious foe.

After successfully freeing Robin from the same fate as Batman and Superman, Mxyzptlk discovers a possible way to stop the villains and the imps. Something that will require giving one of Superman’s allies powers that could save the world. Unfortunately, those powers will attract some unwanted and dangerous attention.

The Story: Waid crafts an intense and action filled story in this issue. I continue to enjoy the arc immensely and how it mingles the absurdity of the premise and its characters with great action and thrills. Waid continues to do a wonderful job of blending in other characters while keeping the core story centered on Batman and Superman. It continues to be a fun and entertaining story that culminates in a great cliffhanger.

The Art: Mora and Mercer craft beautiful art throughout the issue. I love the blending of art styles and how they complement each other in service of the story.
