The Rundown: While Superman and Batman face a magical threat to the world, Robin and Supergirl make a devastating discovery.
Batman and Superman find themselves facing off against Hal Jordan as the demon Nezha’s powers grow and he is able to control more people. With Hal’s powers augmented by magic, even Superman finds himself vulnerable. Something the demon will use to his advantage as he attempts to remove the duo from the field.
At the same time, Robin and Supergirl discover how the warriors in the past were able to trap Nezha in his tomb. As they head back to the present, the pair find themselves separated and Kara arrives in the aftermath of a huge battle to tell Batman and Superman how to stop the demon and, more importantly, what it will cost to do it.
The Story: Waid delivers great action and adventure in this issue. The story is filled with tension and I love seeing the dynamic between the two as they fight together. I enjoy how the tension is split between the different parts of the story and how the plot moves towards its engaging and intriguing cliffhanger.
The Art: Dan Mora crafts some beautifully vibrant and detailed art on every page of the issue. The style is brilliant and a breath of fresh air. I loved every panel and page.
