The Rundown: A visit from the Flash will send Batman and Superman on a multiversal rescue mission.
Flash finds himself racing through the multiverse to map it and discovers the world that David has landed on. One that seemingly doesn’t know anything about the multiverse.
Batman and Superman use a modified cosmic treadmill in order to rescue David, but they find him as a older man with a darker interpretation of what it means to be a hero.
The Story: An exciting, thrilling adventure filled with surprises and great action. Waid does a great job of linking the world of this story to the rest of the multiverse and I like the dilemma of having Batman and Superman in a world that doesn’t know about the multiverse at all. The drama with David continues to be interesting and the story ramps up the tension between the characters and makes me want to see what happens next.
The Art: Mora delivers some beautifully detailed and visually thrilling art throughout the issue. I continue to love the character designs in this series and Mora’s take on the Kingdom Come universe is fantastic.
