The Rundown: A sequence of events leads to a massacre in Gotham and the mysterious narrator is revealed.
Batman and The Help race to a Gotham Park as Riddler and Catwoman work out another deal with their potential buyer in the United States government. At the same time, Penguin continues his quest for revenge by hiring goons loyal to every criminal mastermind in the city from Joker to Mad Hatter. The agent in charge of securing the eye decides that she is going to get the object with the help of highly trained military personnel.
The journey of the eye through time continues with tales of its time with the Spartan army to its time with Constantine before the end of his life. With time running out, Batman makes it to the scene in an attempt to stop the bloodshed, but finds himself in the middle of a massacre. Meanwhile, the eye itself lands in the hands of the mysterious narrator who has timed his arrival down to the minute.
The Story: King continues to craft an energetic and entertaining story in this issue and I love how the story starts in the middle of the massacre. All of the details in the story are wonderfully compelling and everything leads to a fantastic reveal that gives all the narration and details the perfect context in relation to the story.
The Art: Marquez has a brilliantly detailed and energetic art style that works perfectly with this story. The style beautifully adds to the dramatic tension that story is creating.
