The Rundown: Early in his career, Batman faces a group of villains planning an elaborate heist.

A security guard, a bank president and his wife become patsies in a daring crime perpetrated by Killer Croc, Catwoman and Riddler. As the crime gets underway, the newly appointed Commissioner Gordon is informed and decides to call in help from the Batman. Unfortunately, some of the people in the scenario are not as innocent as they seem to be on the outside. As Batman comes on the scene, Catwoman makes her move with the bank president’s wife while Riddler deals with the man himself.

As Batman deals with Croc, Selina and Riddler pull off the real heist and get their hands on something much more valuable than the money in the vault. In the aftermath, three of the conspirators meet to discuss the stolen object. An object that has not only a long history, but a value that one of the trio is willing to kill for and which Batman will be desperate to find.

The Story: I loved every moment of this first issue. The mystery was thrilling. The action was fun and exciting. The plot was intricate and engaging. The narration brilliantly brings the reader into the heart of the mystery. I cannot wait to see where this story goes and what twists and turns it makes on its journey.

The Art: David Marquez delivers some beautifully detailed art on every page of this issue. I was immersed in both the visual style of the issue and its detailed characters and action.
