The Rundown: Bruce finally knows the truth about the Wayne’s and it is time for him to bring everything to light.
Bruce recalls the aftermath of his parent’s death to Harley as he comes to a series of realizations about both himself and the Wayne family. To make matters worse, the realization that his negligence as Bruce Wayne has contributed to the situation the city is in will force him to realize that the legacy of both Batman and Bruce Wayne are tainted. With Harley by his side, Bruce will make a decision to trust in Gotham.
After going to see Barbara and asking for her advice, Bruce decides that it is time to strip away all the masks and appeal to the city to trust in him one last time as he takes to the streets to finish his fight with Jean Paul Valley once and for all.
The Story: Sean Murphy takes the story to a place where all the plot points and their consequences come to a head. The plot is dense and moves with a brilliant pace that makes it enjoyable from start to finish. Even the quiet moments in the story are well told. I love the moments between Bruce and Harley as well as the conversation between Bruce and Barbara. The way Murphy lays out the rest of this issue is great in how he merges the final resolution of both Bruce Wayne and Batman.
The Art: Murphy delivers some beautiful visuals in this issue. The story is more character focused and that comes through in the art. Murphy has some great moments with Bruce being contemplative as well as some awesome group shots. My favorite moment is the return of an iconic Batmobile and how Murphy uses it in the story.
