The Rundown: Bruce will come to terms with a dark family secret as Azrael makes his next move.
The chaos that Joker set in motion has claimed the life of Commissioner Gordon and as the city mourns, Batman finds another missing piece to the puzzle of his sorted family history.
Learning the truth about his ancestor’s betrayal of the Order of St. Dumas, Batman needs to enlist the help of Harley Quinn to try to reach Jack Napier and get the answers they need.
At the same time, Azrael turns on his employer and confronts the man brought in to take over in case he failed, Bane.
The Story: Consistently revelatory and entertaining. Sean Murphy continues to take readers on an incredibly imaginative and intriguing journey both with the characters that we know, but also with a history filled with secrets, lies and betrayals. I love the dialogue in this issue and all of the character interactions. The Harley/Joker/Jack dynamic is incredibly compelling and with every climax I find myself more intrigued with what shape this tale will take next.
The Art: Murphy does some amazing work with the art in this issue as well. There are some incredibly detailed panels in this story and many of the sequences throughout hit me emotionally while also ramping up the tension of this story.
