The Rundown: Batman reluctantly teams with Joker to take down a new threat.
After securing Joker, Batman discovers that the rash of killings in the city are being committed by multiple assailants. All of whom share Joker’s DNA. After a furious fight where he has to free Joker to get his help, the pair find themselves on their own after Batman is injured. After securing Joker again, the batmobile returns to the batcave where Nightwing and Alfred are waiting to treat Bruce and discover the origin of the toxin that was infecting him.
In the aftermath, Dick has to run interference at a Wayne Industries meeting while Batman follows the signal from Joker’s phone to a familiar location and a confrontation with a threat to Gotham. A threat that gives Batman a deadly choice while the sample they took from one of the killers begins a dangerous transformation within the cave.
The Story: An intense and entertaining thriller from Silvestri that has some intriguing elements within it. There’s a great mystery forming within this series and not only do I love that Batman has to team with Joker to solve it, but the fact that the real threat has yet to be revealed makes me more excited to keep reading and learning more.
The Art: Silvestri also delivers some beautifully detailed art throughout the issue with visuals that are exciting and brilliantly utilize the darkness of the city to its advantage.
