The Rundown: Bruce and Selina continue their time together in paradise as they prepare to take the next step in taking back Gotham from Bane.
Bruce and Selina continue to disagree about the night they first met and their disagreement allows Bruce to step back and examine his life and mission. As the situation in Gotham garners more interest from the outside world, Selina lets Bruce know about Magpie selling a shipment of Venom nearby.
Before the two of them can take on Magpie and her crew, the new duo needs to work out some things which they do by taking down some local crime including a hold up. Invigorated and ready for the next part of their plan, the pair head to Magpie’s ship to send a message back to Bane and the rest of the city.
The Story: I love the simplicity of this story and how expertly it weaves in the Bruce and Selina narrative into this bigger story. Even though the Batman part takes a back burner in this issue, the presence of Batman is still felt throughout and becomes the catalyst for Bruce to try to integrate new things into his life including not just Selina, but Catwoman as well. King writes amazing dialogue for these characters and their personalities jump off the page and points to remind the reader that there is a change coming for both of them and I can’t wait to see what it is.
The Art: Clay Mann has some beautiful art in this issue. All of the scenes on the beach and every shot of the two of them together is framed and executed brilliantly.
