The Rundown: In a strange Gotham ruled by fear, Bruce must find a way to return home.

Living in the shadows with like minded young people trying to help a Gotham ruled by darkness and fear, Bruce Wayne attempts to learn more about the city and who rules it. At the same time, a familiar face is confronted by someone who refuses to let the city destroy her mission and Harvey receives a visit from someone who wants him to find Bruce Wayne.

After discovering where the rich elites of the city hang out and that one of them might have a way of sending him home, Bruce goes undercover only to discover that the Bruce Wayne of this world made some powerful enemies. Enemies who not only find themselves in high places, but who want him gone permanently.

The Story: An entertaining dark adventure for Bruce that is taking him to some places that are interesting for the character. I love the uncertainty of the world he is in and how he is adapting to survive. I love the nuance of a lot of the characters and how they are interacting with him as well as the surprises throughout the issue. There is one character reveal that is a little too much too soon for me as a reader, but I like where this story is going and want to see how it plays out.

The Art: Hawthorne does some beautiful work with the look of the city in this issue. I love the visual contrasts in the worlds of these character and how they build the world of this arc.
