The Rundown: Batman’s mission to rescue his former teammates leads to a shocking betrayal.
Batman’s mission in Badhnisia runs into some big issues when he is blinded by Abyss and Detective Cayha is forced to find a way to get him out of the building and somewhere safe with the police searching for him. In the aftermath, the two discuss not only the case, but they’re shared pasts as Lex Luthor gets an unexpected visitor.
Bruce discovers that the rest of the members of Batman Inc are being held in a high security prison and he is determined to free them now that the man they supposedly killed is discovered to be alive. Unfortunately, the former members of his team are not happy to see him, and he discovers too late that there is more to the situation than he knows.
The Story: Williamson crafts a story with some interesting twists and turns within it. Putting Batman at a disadvantage also leads to some great dramatic moments and I am starting to warm to Luthor’s presence in the story. I like the mystery elements of it and it’s interesting to see something happen with Batman Inc that is more than just camp.
The Art: Molina and Janin deliver some great visual moments throughout the issue. I love the use of shadow and darkness in the art and the moments leading to the finale are visually thrilling and tense.
