The Rundown: Peacekeeper 1 is on a rampage and Batman must stop him before the program destroys the city.
Saint has moved his air base in position to where he believes his rogue Peacekeeper 1 is hiding. With Scarecrow still inside the man’s head, Peacekeeper 1 is on a rampage through the city and Saint is desperate to contain him to protect his program. After sending in the powered Peacekeeper-X to either contain or kill the rogue Peacekeeper, a battle ensues that will force Batman to act to stop both men.
While Saint is willing to kill everyone in the area to protect his plan, Batman fights the Peacekeepers and tries to stop Peacekeeper-X from both killing Peacekeeper 1 and destroying half the city. At the same time, Miracle Molly discovers exactly what the next part of Scarecrow’s plan for the city is and races off to find Batman before it’s too late.
The Story: James Tynion IV crafts an exciting story in this issue. The Peacekeeper storyline has been a little stiff at times, but this issue definitely picks up the energy and showcases how dangerous Saint and his plans really are. All of the forces working against Batman and Gotham are starting to get a little much, but this story puts some of those things in perspective and gives a thrilling and exciting story to enjoy while engaging the reader with its cliffhanger.
The Art: Jorge Jimenez matches the energy of the story perfectly with art that is highly detailed, slick and filled with great action and expression from its characters.
