The Rundown: The heroes will rally to save the city and Batman will confront Joker for possibly the last time.
Barbara has decided to remove herself from the fight in the streets and direct everyone as Oracle. With the heroes rallied, they take to the streets to take on the army of clowns as Batman confronts Joker and the weaponized body of Alfred. Using deadlier versions of his weapons against him, Joker tells the Dark Knight his plans for the city.
As everything begins to crumble for Joker and his plans, Punchline finds herself in the crosshairs of Nightwing and the rest of the Bat Family. With Batman and Joker facing off in the crumbling ruins of Ace Chemicals, Harley will intervene to force Bruce to make a final choice about the Joker. A choice that will change Batman’s future.
The Story: James Tynion brings the Joker War to an end, but leaves the door open for the consequences of that war to reverberate for for years to come for the heroes of Gotham, especially Batman. While the overall story ends a little abruptly, the closing stories do a great job of setting up new challenges for the characters. The Clownhunter interlude was definitely one of the better stories and the Punchline prelude is really interesting.
The Art: All of the artists bring some beautiful visuals throughout this issue. Jorge Jimenez does a fantastic job of bringing flair to the action.
