The Rundown: The Batgirls attend a crowded march in the hopes of catching a murderer.
A masked Cassie and Steph attend a solidarity event in the Hill days after a deadly shooting. While there they spot a sniper, and with guidance from Oracle, rush to confront the villain. As Stephanie brawls with an enemy, Grace steps in a revenge inspiration of her own. Soon, an unexpected action leads the Batgirls to a new source of terror. Afterwards, the main cast of this series come together to visit an injured friend.
The Story: The end of the road. Batgirls concludes with a series finale that is both satisfying and skillfully executed. The heart of this series has always been the relationships between the Batgirls and their circle. I found that this episode not only found a way to bring back characters from previous arcs but was able to convey how they had transformed since their first appearances. This chapter closed the loop for the series elegantly, but I have high hopes their story will continue somewhere in another format.
The Art: This well-designed issue features traditional artwork in a realistic styling. The illustrations are appealing, and the attention to detail within the work provides readers with a sequence of emotionally engaging and transportive visuals.
