The Rundown: What happened when Regan and the others walked the path is revealed as Hannah confronts Barrett.
Vanessa recounts the journey she and the others made to discover the secrets of the Chimera. As they descend into darkness, they discover the truth about what the Chimera is and what they were created to do with its power. Unfortunately, Vanessa’s second trip down the path will give her the power to destroy everything she once knew as she waits for Regan to come to her.
As Regan walks alone to confront Vanessa, she can hear her in her mind taunting her with their shared past. At the same time, Hannah confronts Barrett who wants her to help him unlock something powerful. Something she knows he cannot control and something she wants to destroy.
The Story: Bunn crafts a story filled with tension as Vanessa faces her past and decides to forge her own path with the power she has. Regan’s story is more muted as she walks a path alone with the voice of Vanessa in her head and filled with regret. Hannah’s story is great and filled with fierce determination and dangerous obsession. I really enjoy how the story is building and cannot wait to see where it goes next.
The Art: Scharf delivers some powerful and beautifully detailed art in the issue. The visuals perfectly capture the terror and tension of the story.
