The Rundown: It’s the end of the line for Bix and Tillie as Zeke prepares to end his career with one last chase.
In the aftermath of another murder, Box and Tillie are on the run again and Zeke knows exactly where they will go and what they will do next. As he and others move in on another air show, the couple land looking for gas and an escape. What they find is the community they’ve been searching for and the possibility of freedom.
At the same time, Zeke knows what comes next for the couple and it isn’t pretty. As the rest of the hunters and press go running after the other barnstormers, Zeke knows where Bix and Tillie really are and he’s going to end this chase one way or the other.
The Story: Snyder brings this story to a wonderful, charming and exciting end with a finale that is filled with great action and characters. I love the narration in this story a a lot and how it keeps you guessing throughout. As much as I liked the build up of the love story between Bix and Tillie, I enjoyed seeing their story through Zeke’s eyes as he contemplates both what he is going to do with them, but also the end of his career. A fantastic story that delivers on all points.
The Art: Lotay’s art is sublime. I continue to marvel over every page and panel. Every character expression and environment is beautiful to behold.
