The Rundown: Hulk and Thor return to Avengers mountain to discover an exorcism gone terribly wrong and Robbie finds quitting his job as Ghost Rider to be harder than he thought.
After discovering the strange artifact, Hulk and Thor leave Iron Man to continue investigating. When they return to Avengers mountain, they discover that the entire mountain is on lock down because the exorcism they performed to separate Robbie Reyes from the Ghost Rider failed and an unknown entity has taken over the mountain itself. As Helstrom and the others fight to regain control of the mountain, they will discover that the entity possessing it is someone they all know.
At the same time, Robbie refuses to race Johnny Blaze for his powers prompting the new king of Hell to threaten Robbie’s brother unless he complies. When Robbie finally starts to race, he realizes quickly that Hell has its own rules and Blaze is not going to play by any of them.
The Story: I like the fact that this story is moving in some strange and interesting directions for the characters, especially Robbie. Jason Aaron has made this team incredibly entertaining to read and I am engaged with the plot and the characters. The story threads being opened are intriguing and I really want to see where the story goes next, especially Robbie’s story and what is happening with Stark.
The Art: Stefano Caselli delivers some impressive art in this issue. Some of the visual highlights include all of the scenes in hell between Robbie and Johnny Blaze as well as the final reveal in this issue.
