The fight for Robbie Reyes’ soul includes the appearance of a familiar face.
Robbie is trapped in his own personal hell as the rest of the Avengers fight Ghost Rider in the real world. The Shadow Colonel and his crew are still searching for the vampire children, but Blade manages to keep them busy enough for the kids to escape.
Both the internal and external fights are not going well for the Avengers, but when the Spirit of Vengeance overplays it’s hand with Carol Danvers, it opens up the opportunity for Captain Marvel and Blade to help free Robbie.
At the same time, Red Widow and the Winter Guard meet with Dracula to discuss what he is offering. Widow considers his proposal and then shows the lord of vampires what she’s willing to do to him for the answers she seeks. It’s a brutal lesson that will elicit the first emotion from the creature.
While the Winter Guard savors their advantage, the Shadow Colonel and his crew are putting the next part of their plan into action.
This is an exciting and entertaining issue from Jason Aaron. All of the twists are great. The characters are done well and their interactions and motivations are engaging. The pace of the story is thrilling and the way everything lays out is both shocking and wonderful to read.
The art by David Marquez is beautifully detailed. All of the action scenes look incredible.
