The Rundown: Kai wakes up in his new body and discovers that the empire he’s followed is more corrupt than he thought.
Kai awakens in a new Arc body and immediately attacks the man who did it until he is forced to stand down and learn the truth about Zynitech. At the same time, his former partner and commander and looking for his dead body and his wife is looking for answers. After discovering what the people that saved him are after, Kai decides to set out on his own.
Back on the planet, his former partner has been dispatched to find his body and return it for the secrets found inside and decides to enlist the help of the best bounty hunter in the area to track Kai down as the man himself discovers the new powers his Arc body now holds.
The Story: Snyder and Tieri continue to do some great world building in this issue. I like the stakes of the story a lot as well as the characters and their motivations. There is a great buildup of tension throughout the story and everything molds together brilliantly to an interesting cliffhanger that has me excited to see what happens next.
The Art: Smallman delivers some great art throughout the issue. I continue to love the exaggerated style of the characters and how that art contributes to the tone of the story.
