The Mandalorian is set to return this fall on Disney Plus and there’s a new piece of casting news sure to excite Star Wars across the galaxy.
It’s been reported in Deadline and other sources that actor Temuera Morrison will return to the Star Wars universe to take on the role of Mandalorian bounty hunter Boba Fett in the second season of The Mandalorian. Morrison played bounty hunter Jango Fett in Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones. His son Boba, played by Daniel Logan in the film, is actually an unaltered clone of Jango.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Boba Fett’s role in the upcoming second season will be a small one, but the impact of the character returning after his death in Return of the Jedi is huge. What will make it more interesting is how his intervention with Fennec Shand will change Mando’s world and his mission.
Morrison’s appearance in the second season could also connect to the reported inclusion of Rosario Dawson as Ahsoka Tano in the second season. With Morrison as the clone template, he could return as former Clone Trooper Rex in the series.
