Fans of FX’s series American Horror Story are fiercely loyal and devoted to every character and storyline. They clamor for news about the new season and spend a good amount of time trying to find connections between previous seasons. Well, looks like the next season is going into some brand new territory.
Variety and The Chicago Tribune are reporting that the next season (season 7) of the hit series will tackle a real life horror show: the 2016 Presidential Election. Executive Producer and Creator Ryan Murphy stated that “Well, I don’t have a title, but the season we begin shooting in June is going to be about the election that we just went through,” Murphy said. “So I think that will be interesting for a lot of people.”
In January, FX renewed the series through to season 9. It’s already been confirmed that series regulars Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters would be returning this season. With the confirmation of the overall plot, it will interesting to speculate on who the actors could be playing. Personally, I have a couple of suggestions.
Sarah Paulson as Kellyanne Conway
If this isn’t already written down on a computer somewhere in Ryan Murphy’s home, than I am giving it to him as a gift because I want to see it. There is nothing that the multiple award winner could not do in any role on the series. The smart money would be on her playing a version of Hillary Clinton but I think she could be amazing in the role of the reluctant face of the campaign who gives herself over completely to the darkness surrounding her for the sake of fame.
Evan Peters as Jared Kushner
Who else but Evan Peters could pull off a performance like this. He could play the character as a smarmy, unprincipled opportunist who is one step behind the President but always two steps ahead, shaping policy as he takes more and more control. Also, I can’t be the only person who doesn’t want to see Lady Gaga as either Melania or Ivanka.
Every season of the series has a supernatural element to it and it will be interesting to see how those elements might play into this current season that starts shooting in June.
