The Rundown: After a confrontation, America Chavez discovers the truth about her past.
Catalina and America face off over the fate of a group of young people. Then, America takes a memory recovery aid. In the past, America’s family fights against a scientist with evil intentions. In an effort to escape their enemies, Amalia makes a deadly decision. And later, a tragedy occurs. Finally, America gains her freedom, but it comes at a loss. Back in the present, America once again is confronted by Catalina. But this time, Catalina brings someone unexpected.
The Story: Vazquez creates a compelling narrative that changes the context of America’s relationship with Catalina. I really enjoy it when a tale gives insight into the view of the perceived villain. This heartbreaking chapter shows how trauma can shape people in different ways. I look forward to finding out more about Catalina. And I am excited to learn how her relationship with America will progress.
The Art: This issue features bold colors and a modern comic styling. The emphasis placed on character expression and form is very engaging. And the action scenes are exciting and interesting. I was captivated by the panels throughout the story.
