The Rundown: Peter has a series of dreams that will bring him closer to the entity known as Kindred.
It’s been a hard fight lately for Peter and the one thing he really wants to do is get some sleep. Unfortunately, Kindred has other plans for the wall crawler and they will begin in his dreams. Peter wakes up in the backseat of a car driven by Overdrive. The driver has run into a bit of trouble with his latest job and the creature that killed the guys who hired him seems to be everywhere he goes.
When Peter wakes from this nightmare, he finds that Kindred isn’t done telling Spider-Man that he’s coming for him. After calling Mary Jane to talk, Kindred reveals that his plans go beyond just Peter Parker, but he has plans for everyone in Peter’s life.
The Story: Nick Spencer does a great job of ramping up the menace of Kindred and making the reader want to know more about the villain and his plan. There is tension and a sense of foreboding throughout this issue and you feel for Peter and the trouble coming his way. I enjoyed the twist at the end of the issue and what it means for the people in Spider-Man’s life.
The Art: Kim Jacinto and Bruno Oliviera do amazing work with the art in this issue. The actions scenes are filled with energy and movement. The nightmare scenes are dark and scary. A great looking issue from start to finish.
