The Rundown: Spidey and Teresa try a radical strategy to stop Doom’s invasion of the city; telling him the truth.
With Doctor Doom’s army of Doombots surrounding the city, the ruler of Latveria demands his would be assassin be brought to him for punishment. Unfortunately, Chameleon has already killed the man and that makes getting Doom out of the city a harder prospect.
Meanwhile, Spider-Man utilizes the Clairvoyant tech his classmate invented and the AI from the future to go through more distant and strange scenarios stemming from his choices. Each one has increasingly outlandish endings and Spidey decides that the best hing he can do is be honest with Doom, but with a twist.
The Story: Nick Spencer crafts a fun, scenario driven conclusion to the Doom invasion and it works both in its story and its humor. The humor of Spidey dealing with each scenario is effective and made me laugh more than once. The story and dialogue are great and not only does the story add new mystery to Miguel’s appearance in the present, but also sets up some interesting stories involving Silver Sable and Doom to come.
The Art: Bazaldua delivers some beautiful art in this issue. Everything from the characters to the backgrounds look great and the action moments between Spidey and Doom look awesome.
