The Rundown: In the wake of a deadly crash near their colony, the colonists themselves are unaware that something is coming for them.
In the aftermath of the crash, the colonists wonder what will happen now that the lawyers that were on board to hand over the planet to them are gone. More in-fighting ensues as many question their circumstances. Jane decides to cut through the tension and get people back in line, but no one believes that she saw something coming from the wreckage. Something that is loose in their colony.
Unfortunately, no one believes her including her second and her warnings to stay inside are not heeded. That night, two of the colonists investigate the wreckage to start the cleanup and notice something strange about the wrecked interior. Something they won’t have the time or the ability to tell anyone else about when they are attacked. The next day a group goes looking for the missing and discover the creature Jane has been warning them about. As the colonists try to flee, Jane will discover that there is another threat to them all. One from within their own colony.
The Story: Johnson crafts a great, tension filled story in this issue. There are some great horror and thriller elements throughout the characters are compelling, especially Jane. The buildup of tension within the story was riveting and kept me engaged as a reader throughout. Everything culminates into some great moments of horror and revelation that make me anxious for what comes next.
The Art: Larroca delivers some beautiful art throughout the issue. The characters have a visual weight to them that makes them more compelling and the horror elements and tension are brilliantly rendered.
