The Rundown: A dying gunslinger goes on a dangerous quest to confront death itself.
A lone gunslinger wander a wasteland until she comes upon a coach. After being confronted by a mother and daughter, she thinks back on her time before leaving. A time with her loving husband and daughter and the moment she discovered she is dying. A moment when she makes a dark decision.
Revolver Ridge Ryder decides to take a dangerous journey to the fabled City of Cypress. A journey that will bring her to a dark realm where she tells the first living soul she finds what her mission is. A mission that will bring her face to face with death itself.
The Story: Young delivers a fantastic story in this first issue. Every moment and character reveal engaged me. I really enjoyed the world being created in this first issue and how each moment with the character had emotional weight to it. Ryder is a dynamic character on an interesting mission and the first issue has already gotten my attention and piqued my interest.
The Art: Corona delivers fantastic visuals throughout the issue. I love their collaborations with Young and how the art captures the emotions of every moment while also delivering gorgeous details and designs throughout.
