Last week we were given opportunity to view the first trailer for the long overdue X-Men film Dark Phoenix and now there’s news regarding the release of the film.
According to multiple sources, including The Hollywood Reporter, Fox is changing the release schedule for many of its films again including Dark Phoenix.
The film was originally scheduled to open this November, but that plan was changed to add reshoots. When the trailer was released last week, it included the release date of February 14, 2019. Now the film has been moved again and is scheduled to be released June 7, 2019. The move also means that the Gambit film, which was scheduled for June 7, 2019 will now be moved to March 13, 2020.
Robert Rodriguez’s Alita will move into the February 14, 2019 release date. What this move means for New Mutants and the other Fox X-Men films in development after the Disney/Fox merger is anyone’s guess.
