The Rundown: Claire and Chris get closer as an ailing gangster becomes something more powerful.
As they investigate Claire’s encounter with a ghostly subway station, she and Chris get closer. After not finding anything, the two spend more time together before Chris has to visit his grandfather in the nursing home. They discover that the ailing gangster who was the previous Crossdraw Kid’s nemesis has gone missing.
As Claire’s son begins investigating the gangster with his aunt, Claire heads back down into the subway where she discovers that the gangster has gotten a new lease on life in death.
The Story: Fraction continues to craft a fun adventure filled with great characters, mystery and even romance. The dynamic between Claire and Chris is charming and their moments are filled with great dialogue. The Caspar mystery is thrilling and has some great moments that kept me engaged. The story has some of the best characters I’ve seen in comics in a long time and everything about this series makes me want to come back for more.
The Art: Dodson’s art is breathtaking. The character designs are amazing. The composition of panels is brilliant and everything catches the eye and the imagination.
