The Rundown: Anne’s rest at a new port will spell trouble for everyone.
Anne is enjoying her time at port a little too much for Mary. After being stuck for days, the young woman wants to know what the pirate is keeping them at port for. Unfortunately, she will get few answers. As Mary continues to be frustrated with Anne’s antics, she decides to leave, but soldiers looking for the infamous pirate have other ideas.
At the same time, Iris has a hard time protecting Jane as the pair find themselves cornered by kidnappers sent to retrieve Jane for her father. As Iris fights to protect Jane, none of them are aware of the mystery woman who came to town looking for one of them.
The Story: Phillips continues to keep this story fused with both fun and adventure. Anne and her companions continue to be interesting and captivating and their individual stories continue to be engaging. There are thrills throughout this issue and it is fun to see that Anne does not have things as thought out as she claims. As the characters stumble through their circumstances, there is the growing sense that they will accomplish nothing on their own and everything together, which is fun.
The Art: George delivers some spectacular visuals throughout this issue. The characters look amazing and the action is thrilling and full of beautiful details.
